Established in 2007, Hotspots2c has grown to be one of South Africa’s favourite tour operators. Based in the Cape Town region, we offer scheduled group, private and tailor-made tours primarily to the Western Cape along the Garden Route, Addo and Kruger National Park and beyond.
Hotspots2c is the brainchild of Western Cape local, Johan Du Toit – a seasoned globetrotter who has travelled to more than 60 countries to date. We are owner-operated and offer easy and affordable touring options. Our passengers enjoy the convenience of a small tour and the luxury of choice - from activity options to where you stay.
At Hotspots2c, we do not want to be the largest tour operator in South Africa; we simply want to be the best. Being privately owned gives us independence and flexibility and is a competitive advantage in our quality control and accountability. We pay meticulous attention to itineraries and tap into our creativity when we plan our tours. Our bespoke itineraries can accommodate any group size, almost any destination and fit your exact preferences.
Behind-the-scenes, our dedicated team has a cumulative industry experience of more than 150 years, and all of our tour guides are accredited by the Department of Tourism. We are a unified company that believes travel is more than just visiting a place but it's about building relationships, making a positive change and about giving back to the community. That’s why we established our charity arm, 2cChange in 2016 to help make a difference in the areas we travel.
Travel should be savoured, that's why we’ve done all the hard work for you, taking care of all of the little details so you can simply focus on having a good time. Our scheduled group tours are designed for solo travellers, couples, friends, adrenaline junkies and everyone else in-between, and include more sights, more activities and more spectacular places to stay with flexible free time. Every Hotspots2c tour package offers a variety of options to personalise your trip, from accommodation to optional activities. If you have a specific bucket list in mind, we can tailor-make your dream trip.

Travel is as much about the destination as it is about the people. We believe in superior customer service and personalised details. Our on-the-ground experts and tour guides are all locals and passionate about Southern Africa, providing in-depth knowledge and authentic experiences. With years of satisfied travellers’ appraisals and top-rated online reviews, it’s safe to say that we always go the extra mile when it comes to total customer satisfaction.
We believe in travel that leaves positive footsteps in its wake, that's why part of your tour price is used to support local projects that make a positive, life-changing difference in the communities through which you travel. Having been in the travel industry for 17 years I have come to know and love South Africa and all that it has to offer. I enjoy the easy going lifestyle and the rich culture. Traditional African music is one of my loves in life, as well as different languages, I can speak 11 local languages. If I’m not conversing in a foreign language I’m probably cracking jokes on the tennis court. I love making people feel at home in South Africa.
I have worked in the travel industry for 15 years now and my passion for travelling has only grown as the time has gone by. Locally, my favourite spot would have to be Durban, in Kwa-Zulu Natal, but if you lose me abroad, I’ll be enjoying the beaches of Mozambique’s Nyambane. I love sports, especially golf, and watching other people experience our beautiful country.
My nickname is GG – Gentle Giant – and I think it fits well as I was a former African Junior champion in Javelin throw, but I’m also a choir conductor. Life is all about balance. I love all kinds of sports and am passionate about travel. One of my favourite local spots is South Africa’s Ostrich capital, Oudtshoorn.
I am a firm believer that we should go wherever the journey takes us. As an avid mommy-adventurer, I love discovering places right on our own doorstep. The Cape winelands are most definitely up there near the top of my list, as well as the many picturesque coastal treasures we have here in South Africa. A strong contender for my favourite international destination would have to be Thailand’s many islands!
Before I became a guide with Hotspots2c I spent many years training tour guides, so it’s safe to say that I LOVE the travel industry. I love being on the road and getting to see all that our beautiful country has to offer. While I am a scuba-diving enthusiast, I also love South Africa’s Kruger National Park and all it has to offer, we really do have something special in this country. Internationally, I’d have to say that Singapore is a firm favourite.
I have travelled quite extensively in my 27 years of working in the tourism industry, but I have to say, South Africa will always be home. I love hiking in the Drakensberg Mountains and singing at the top of my lungs – “the hiiiiills are alive!” Only joking, but I did get the privilege to sing with the world famous Drakensberg Boys’ Choir when I was younger. I just love laughing and enjoying every moment life throws at me.
I love to seek out adventure and do everything I can for a challenge. Travel is one of the most rewarding ways to adventure and our world has so many unexplored places. Luckily for us, our beautiful country also has some serious gems. Tsitsikamma is one of my personal favourite local spots to explore, so many opportunities to hike, cycle and adventure, my cup of tea.
Travel was always something I wanted to do growing up and my first travel-related job was as a tour guide in Europe. From there I have gone on to travel to 60 countries and have lived in Australia, Scotland and France. When I started Hotspots2c it was pretty much just me and my bus, and the support of my family. When I’m not focused on work I’m with my family or can be found practising my French or reading with a glass of wine.
I believe that hard work, determination and passion will take you where you want to go, and if you don’t apply those things to what you’re doing, then you shouldn’t be doing it. That's why, after my first job as a travel consultant in London back in 1999, I still find myself in the travel industry. When I'm not drinking beer I can usually be found participating in or training for an endurance event; cooking up gourmet dishes, or travelling through the Cape Winelands.
With 12-years of working for Lufthansa under my belt, I am often teased about my German efficiency – but that’s what helps me balance work and being a mother to two very busy teenage boys and keeping the family pets alive! As much as I enjoyed my time in Europe, I am very happy to be home and to be able to work in a company that allows for both work growth and having the time to spend with my boys.
I have 11 years of permanent work experience in the Travel Industry. As a student I had to do 300 hours of practical work, so I have done a variety of jobs in the travel industry. As a mother of three the idea of travel as education has always interested me, and it was why I was happy to take on the challenge of creating edu-tours for young learners. My family time is also so very important to me and I love taking walks in nature with my kids and seeing the 'world' through their eyes, and watching movies with some good red wine and chocolates with my hubby.
Travel and Tourism is what I have a passion for, and studied it at University. From there I went on to work as a guesthouse manager, then on to work at a wine farm, and eventually joined Hotspots2c in 2013. Here my role has changed and developed, just as the company has. I now run the company’s non-profit organsitation – 2Cchange. It is fantastic to see how we are able to give back to the communities that we work closely with and travel through, simply by showing-off our beautiful country.
Since the beginning, working as a guesthouse manager 13-years ago, I have been involved in creating personalised experiences for people in the travel industry. It has grown into my work passion and I love being able to create tailor-made experiences for people that they will remember for the rest of their lives. In between doing that, I create my own memories and experiences by spending time with my family (usually on the beach), attending festivals and capturing it all with my camera.
I truly believe in karma and therefore believe that a person should always do the right thing – which I try to do every day at work and in my personal life. I also like to keep busy, and managing our guides and the logistics of all of our tours definitely does that. I really enjoy all kinds of sports, and keeping fit, which I think makes me better at everything that I do.
Exploring different parts of the world, and getting lost in new places inspires me. If I’m not behind my MacBook designing, editing travel videos or uploading prices and product content, I like to travel - especially doing weekend adventures locally. Growing up on a farm instilled a deep passion for the great outdoors, so wandering barefoot in nature will always be my happy place.
Hotspots2c is my first travel job and I have loved every second of it. Even when it feels like I’m juggling balls of fire with my feet, while standing on my head. On the days that I’m not doing that, I am usually with family and friends, or busy helping to organise activities with my church (more juggling balls of fire). When I do have some time to myself though, I can be found spending hours completing crossword puzzles.
Firstly it is important for you to know that I literally cannot see a dog without stopping to stroke it. Right, with that out of the way, I have always thought that travel was an important way to learn about oneself, and that it allowed for growth and development. It’s also very exciting – which is why I started out working for a travel marketing agency before I joined the Hotspots2c Team. When I’m not working I’m usually creating decadent baking creations, enjoying music, or spending time with family and friends.
I have a very long history in the travel industry, exploring and guiding through the Cango Caves from when I was a mere 14 years old! Since then my love for travel has only grown, fueled by this spectacular country that I get to call home. My favourite destinations are the ones I have yet to explore and I am always up for an adventure. When I am not on the road, I love gardening, building projects and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
A true adventurer at heart, I love the laid-back lifestyle. South Africa’s Wild Coast is one of my all time favourite spots and has some of the best waves. I love the outdoors and get a kick out of being able to show travellers the beauty of this country. As a keen bird-watcher myself, I love pointing out feathered treasures along my tour routes.
I am an avid adventurer and if you can’t find me traversing mountainsides on my mountain bike, you’ll probably find me jumping off planes, hurtling through the sky. I have been in the travel industry since 2008 and have loved every moment. One of my favourite ways to see new places has to be on a bike, and I love showing others that experience too. It's probably because of this reason that New Zealand is one of my absolute favourite international destinations, but it's not easy to beat South Africa's diversity!
